Care & Wellbeing Hub

The Care & Wellbeing Hub: the shared workspace for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and inspiration in the care sector.

Five organisations from the care and wellbeing sector – Samergo, RijnmondNet, Stichting BeterKeten, Stichting SRZ and deRotterdamseZorg – moved to a single location: the Care & Wellbeing Hub in The Mark Offices in Rotterdam.

The project started with a clear wish: a shared workspace where people from the different organisations could meet and inspire one another. The goal was not just practical – making efficient use of space – but also strategic: encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration between the parties. The solution? A thoughtful design that balances interaction and tranquillity.

The floor has been carefully laid out to meet the different needs of the organisations. The larger parties, Samergo and deRotterdamseZorg, regularly host guests for training sessions and meetings, and therefore have spacious meeting rooms. The smaller organisations are located in quieter parts of the floor, ideal for focused work. The central lunch area has been designed as a shared space, accessible to all parties.

The design also took into account the brand identities of the 5 organisations.

When working with a single client, we often try to incorporate their brand identity into the design. But with five different organisations, each with their own visual style, it becomes more challenging to choose one specific direction when it comes to colour use. Still, we discovered several elements in the brand identities that could reinforce the purpose of this shared space.

The result is a palette that brings connection: calming tones like teal are combined with warm, energetic accents such as terracotta. The lunch area serves as a vibrant meeting place, while the workspaces feature light, neutral shades that create a serene working environment.

We managed the project from start to finish – from the first floor plans to the final interior touches. Our team handled the design as well as the construction, furnishing, and finishing. Together with the organisations, we tested multiple layout options to find the ideal setup. After all, when several parties are coming together in one space, it’s essential to create a layout that works for everyone.

Since its completion in May 2024, the office has become a well-loved workspace for both employees and visitors. The bright, open design and the wide view of the Van Brienenoord Bridge make it an inspiring place to work.
