Daikin is a company that originates from Japan and specialises in heating and cooling of indoor spaces. In their Experience Center in Breukelen, the company demonstrates in which ways high indoor climate solutions lead to sustainable comfort.
In the Netherlands –contrary to other European countries- Daikin did not have an Experience Center yet. Perhaps the term ‘Experience Center’ is over-used nowadays. In any case, the location in Breukelen had to be an environment that was much more than an exhibition stand. See it as a multi-level knowledge centre.
In this sector, training is essential to obtain more capacity for qualified staff. After the opening, gradually more consumers have visited this location in Breukelen, in addition to professionals.
An area of about 500 square metres was available for the design. That may sound like a lot, but with a multitude of functionalities, it was somewhat of a challenge every now and then to grant all of them the space they deserve. We solved this issue through the use of extra smart routing, allowing us to create significant efficiency improvement in terms of design.
Visitors enter the different rooms in a specific order, where attention has been given to perception of the entire location. The Daikin corporate identity colours formed the basis, but we gave it a somewhat more sturdy, darker touch. And, also important: we designed everything such that there is room for continued growth. This is because the world of indoor climate solutions sees a lot of change and rapid change, which, as such, the Experience Center in Breukelen is ready to respond to.
